Our True North
Our mission is simple and its our name: Joining Lives While Building…
We look to the verse Isaiah 1:17 "learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow's cause." to keep us on target to keep joining and building.
A positive change in the child welfare spectrum and the cycle of negative patterns generationally is interrupted and can move toward a healthy pathway that preserves the individual and family.
The JLWB community strives to help individuals and families because we believe that everyone has intrinsic value and we are committed to make a difference for a greater tomorrow.
The JLWB is a hands-on way of showing concern for others in a humane way while allowing individuals to keep their dignity. It is a compassionate response to the needs of families in crisis. We are a community set up to serve as a safeguard and help with whatever needs are not being met. The JLWB strives to serve while reflecting Christ’s love for all people regardless of their circumstances. We help individuals transform their lives to their greatest potential while reaffirming their self-esteem and value as well as understanding the Father’s love and purpose for them.
Who We Serve
We serve vulnerable individuals for the preservation of children in their home.
Serving people in need of special care and support or protection because of age, disability or risk of abuse or neglect.
Those who are part of the child welfare system, juvenile correction centers, group homes, prison, struggling with addiction, homelessness, exploitation, the orphans and families in poverty.
Many families struggle to find housing, jobs and/or the support for such things resulting in even greater family crisis. The children suffer for no reason of their own and the lack of care and equipping inevitably cause generational hardship.
The JLWB is motivated by the goal that there is a safe and nurturing home for every child.
Christ's words were "I will not leave you as orphans, I will come to you. "John 14:18
At JLWB we pray, the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13
How We Serve
JLWB has a holistic well-being approach. It serves as a means of gaining physical, emotional, and spiritual growth. JLWB provides job training and career opportunities, transportation options, basic needs, and much more to individuals and families who come through our community.
The JLWB model will be to bring hope to families by providing a safe and secure environment for healing as we equip parents with essential needs and resources while counseling and training them to thrive with a greater sense of value and worth to enable the future generations to interrupt the lineage and surpass expectation.
The JLWB strives to not enable families but to empower them to sufficiency by the power of Jesus Christ.
"Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland." Isaiah 43:18-19
JLWB is run by dedicated staff and more importantly volunteers willing to give their time and energy serving those in need. JLWB relies solely on donations of goods, services and money from the community it serves. Remarkably, it does not accept Federal or State financial assistance.
We believe these truths " I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, Lord.
Repeat them in our day, in our time make them known; in wrath remember mercy. Habakkuk 3:2
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. Hebrews 11:1
